Dear Paston resident,
We hope you are well and staying positive!
At Christmas it was unimaginable to think that by March the world would be gripped by this unprecedented crisis.
Over the coming days, weeks and months, it’s likely that some of our community will be required to self-isolate – some we know are already doing so.
Let’s help each other, as best we can, to get through this period of anxiety, uncertainty and potential loneliness.
Please think about the needs of your neighbours, especially (but not exclusively) the elderly and vulnerable.
Vulnerable people include:
- People living alone.
- Women that are pregnant.
- The aged or infirm.
- People with high blood pressure, heart condition, cancer, diabetes, low-immunity, etc.
- Single parents that may need support if the parent falls ill.
- Families that have lost an income.
Please give them a call or knock on their door to check they are OK.
- Please remind them to drink plenty of fluids.
- Make sure they have food and other essential items
- Check whether they need help with shopping
- Check whether they need help picking up prescriptions
- Make sure they have your phone number(s).
Remember to:
- Wash your hands before you go. Don’t make bodily contact
- Stand 3 meters away.
- If possible always go in pairs to help.
- Do not enter peoples properties without an invitation to do so.
- Avoid handling cash and provide a receipt for goods bought.
- Make sure the person you are helping knows the limits to your assistance.
- Wash your hands again!
Keep up to date and stay in contact at our new Paston Parish Council Facebook page (search for “Paston Parish Council”)

Please only call 111 if you cannot get help from the online service.
